My aligners are too tight.

Greg D Updated by Greg D

Continue to wear your aligners in this case - your aligners are intended to be tight. This tightness is the perfect amount of pressure required to gently and painlessly push your teeth into their new, straighter positions.

With that being said, if your aligners are tight to the point that they hurt you, then remove them and contact

So why is it a good sign that your aligners are extremely difficult to remove?

Well, this tightness means that the required amount of pressure is being applied to your teeth and if you wear your Clear Aligners for a minimum of 4 hours per day then you will find that even after that short period of time your aligners will be removed more easily, because they will have loosened by small degrees each and every hour thereafter.

So, after wearing your Clear Aligners for 22 hours per day for 14 days, your aligners will be so loose that your teeth will be ready for the next set and to begin the process all over again.

In Short

Wear your Clear Aligners for 22 hours per day for 14 days no matter how tight they are. When you do this, your aligners will have moved into a straighter position, and so they will be ready for the next set of your aligners, bringing you closer to the end result of straighter teeth!

How did we do?

Can I drink while wearing my aligners?
